Laughing, the champion said: "Nice...though I'd rather have the other one!"😄

Gordie couldn't have been friendlier🤗, and gave us a lot of his time for a lengthy, highly entertaining conversation. Talk about a true Canadian.🇨🇦

Plus, Gordie exemplifies our national toughness💪...The Man played in the NHL over five separate decades (!), even at an amazing 52 years old (!!)😮☺️❗️

Though he passed away in 2016, that record will NEVER be beat.🏆👌

All thanks to a wonderful Husband-and-Wife team (who have been performing together around the world for over 50 years).❤️😍

⭐️IMAGINE⭐️: You've performed two large shows in northern New Brunswick, and you're trying to get back to NS to beat an impending snowstorm. Your eyes heavy with sleep, you get an invite from a retired German couple, looking to possibly sell their Magic act.
With their place located along the way, you figure you can make a quick stop-in...little expecting you the sheer FUN and FRIENDSHIP awaiting you! 🥳🎊🎉

Christel and Fritz Frischmuth treated yours truly to a meal, a lifetime of stories, and a full-hour (❗️) kitchen Magic Show!

Despite the gathering darkness outside🌨, all was laughter and light within their happy home, as they turned this longtime Magician into a kid again.🥰 (See attached video!) 🎥

A deal was struck, and it feels a profound honour to be able to carry on their sensational show-biz legacy.🎭👍

As you know, there's a quiet Magic in old toys, houses, and books.🙏 As if the Spirits of years-gone-by somehow imbue them with happy memories, giving them a Soul.❤️

Honestly, it feels the same with old-fashioned, high-quality Magic props.👌

Get this❗️: When the Great Fritz smiled and passed over his world-traveled top hat, a wistful, bittersweet thought came over my mind:
"You two have performed together for over 50 years, entertaining for thousands...and tonight, after all that...I had the privilege to witness your...Last Ever Show."🥲

After a beat of quiet...this sudden realization became a bonding moment of reflection, and celebration. 🙏🤗

Departing in the small hours of the night, driving in the white-knuckle conditions of a late-February tempest, the highway homeward journey took 8 hours driving at a mere 15-30 km, but you can do anything when your heart is full.💪❤️👍 Joy elasticizes Your Spirit.🤗

May the Magic Power of similar HOPE, Fun, and Friendship also guide you personally through whatever wacky weather you might be driving through.🎩❤️

Gene's Best Friend ⭐️Morgan Freeman⭐️ sure was, as evinced at last night's Oscars🌠, seeing Morgan's emotional tribute.🥲

Quick personal story❗️: Flashback to 1999. First year of performing Magic in Toronto (inspired by Len Herb Pinsky Browsers Den of Magic).

Feeling beyond excited to embark on this new career.🤗🎩🪄🐰🕊🥳

Then one day, whaddaya know- an impromptu opportunity to meet the legendary ⭐️Gene Hackman⭐️ (❗️)

Yours truly got to thinking: "Hmmm, what could I GIVE The Man, as a GIFT?❓️ Maybe...a Balloon Animal?!" (🎈❗️) (...I was young).🙃😋

As you can see in the attached video🎥, after sharing sincere compliments with the affable actor ("On behalf of all your Fans, we'd love to give you an Oscar, but hopefully THIS will be the next best thing...") our brief exchange went like this:

Gene (looking mildly perplexed at the balloon): "Hmmm...that looked kinda obscene there for a minute...(laughter)..."😅
Mr. J: "From Popeye Doyle to Lex Luthor, we love you!"🥰
Gene: "Wait a minute, WHAT IS IT? (More laughter)."😆🤣

At this point, the Hollywood hero then kindly gave a shout out to all US FOLKS here in NOVA SCOTIA (❗️ 🦞🌊❤️)

Suddenly, in his likeable, charismatic way, Gene Hackman then exclaimed to me with his trademark smile:

"You're a Show Business Legend". (‼️)

Though spoken in jest☺️, this was the first (and still the best) compliment of my early, budding Magic career.🤩🙂🎩🪄

Still to this day, when making balloon dogs for kids of all ages, ole Mr. J thinks of the great ⭐️Gene Hackman⭐️.

RIP to an Actor's Actor.🙏 The French Connection, Poseidon Adventure, Unforgiven, Superman...Gene's movies and talents were pure Magic.✨️🎭❤️👍

1- Grateful to be hired for the third time (‼️) by world-renowned designer ⭐️Ozlem M. Manness⭐️, for her adorable daughter's birthday. Oz owns 'House of Moda🌠', Halifax's premier jewelry and accessory/apparel store.🤗💎 Even with her amazing, sought-after creations worn at the Oscars🏆, and by A-list celebs like Beyoncé☺️, Oz always loves taking part in the simple fun of a Magic Show. (See pics!)🥰

2- A Mom in Chester offered a choice to her son and daughter for their combined birthday party: A Limo Ride🧐, OR a Magic Show🎩🪄. The boy wanted the Limo, the girl requested Mr. J. Luckily, (with their Mom casting the deciding vote😉), Magic won out!🐰🕊❤️ Knowing the boy's preference, brought every bit of energy💪🔥that a Magician could muster, while showcasing him and his sister as the special stars of the show.🌠 Afterwards, asked the livened up-lad if he had any regrets about going with the Magic Show. The pure, unbridled excitement on his face said it all.🥰🥳🎊😀🤗
